(if you do not have any of these, you can also use string, paperclips, or any other nonstandard unit and then count how many of the item you used)
Use your tool to measure a family pet or stuffed animal.

Writing/Science
Ice Cube/Snow Experiment
Materials:
1 cup of snow and 1 ice cube
2 bowls
paper
pencil
Procedure:
Gather snow and ice cube in to separate bowls. Place on table beside each other. Write what you observe and draw a picture every 30 minutes until they have both melted.
You should be able to tell:
How long it took each to melt
Which melted fastest
Any differences you noticed after they melted (what was left in the bowl)
*if no snow just do experiement with ice cube and record your observations and how long it took to melt. Include pictures)

Read a story or 2-3 chapters in a book on your level. Make and complete a Venn Diagram comparing and contrasting a character to yourself.

Write a friendly letter to a classmate to tell about your day. Be sure to include the following:

Create and solve 4 word problems of your own involving coins/dollars.
Social Studies
Create a map of a room in your house. Be sure to include a map key that identifies at least 5 different items in the room.
Day 3
Reading
Read a non-fiction text. Write 1-2 sentences telling what the main idea of the text is. Use complete sentences to tell 5 interesting facts about the topic.
Writing
Draw your own squiggle and write a story about it. Make sure your story has a clear beginning, middle and end.
Math
Track your day telling what time you did certain things (woke up, ate breakfast....). Be sure to include at least 8 events you did during the day. Put the events in order and on a timeline and a include drawings of the times on an analog clock (face clock) and write the times.
